Testing of Paint for Asbestos

Tenders are invited by Powerlink Queensland for the testing of paint for asbestos. The Scope of the Works is to sample, test and record the condition of paints on nominated transmission line structures to identify asbestos or asbestos containing material (ACM). These structures are throughout three regions within Powerlink’s Transmission Lines Network.

The tender is separated into three contract parts. Tenderers may submit a tender for one or more parts.

Part A – Northern Region
For this scope of works it will involve the sampling and testing of:
– 2441 structures in the category 0003 Pre 2004> painted – suspect asbestos risk.
– 173 structures in the category 0008 Pre 2004 > unknown asbestos hazard.

Part B – Central Region
For this scope of works it will involve the sampling and testing of:
– 2932 structures in the category 0003 Pre 2004> painted – suspect asbestos risk.
– 1595 structures in the category 0008 Pre 2004 > unknown asbestos hazard.

Part C – Southern Region
For this scope of works it will involve the sampling and testing of:
– 2925 structures in the category 0003 Pre 2004> painted – suspect asbestos risk.

This ATM seeks to identify suitably qualified provider/s for the provision of delivery facilities and services to support maintenance, storage and logistical services for oil spill response equipment stored at various locations around Australia.

Conditions for Participation:
The Tenderer must have an Australian Business Number (ABN), Australian Company Number (ACN).

The tenderer is to provide evidence that the storage facility is free of asbestos, or have an asbestos management plan, acceptable under Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Regulations 1994, OHS Code of Practice 2008, Safe Work Australia Codes of Practice, and any State/Territory specific regulation.
